Guide 4 · Wallets and testnet
Wallets, networks and testnet: prepare safely
A self-custody wallet holds the keys that control your funds, so whoever has your seed phrase has your money. 369X runs on BNB Smart Chain, where small network fees are paid in BNB. Its testnet uses free test funds with no value, which makes it the right place to learn.
What a self-custody wallet is
A wallet app such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Coinbase Wallet stores a private key, backed up as a 12- or 24-word seed phrase. The key signs transactions; the blockchain records balances. No company can reset it for you, and anyone who learns the seed phrase can move everything in the wallet.
Never share your seed phrase
Not with support staff, not with a website, not with 369X. No legitimate service needs it. This website will never ask you to connect a wallet.
Networks and gas
Wallets can connect to many networks. 369X uses BNB Smart Chain, so your wallet must be set to that network. Every transaction pays a small network fee, called gas, in BNB; on BNB Smart Chain it is typically under a cent, though it varies with load. You need a little BNB for gas as well as the settlement stablecoin to trade.
What testnet is for
A testnet is a copy of the network for practice. 369X is launching there first: you can trade, see markets resolve and claim with free test funds. Test balances have no redeemable value, can be reset, and must never be bought or sold. Anyone selling “testnet tokens” is running a scam.
Airdrop points earned on testnet are records of activity, not tokens.
Approvals and signatures
Before a contract can spend your stablecoin, your wallet asks you to approve it. Some apps request unlimited approvals for convenience; that means the contract can spend any amount later. Read what you sign. If a request doesn’t match what you meant to do, reject it.
Verify an official link
- Type this site’s address yourself or use a bookmark. Don’t follow links in direct messages, comments or ads.
- Reach the trading app only from the link published on this site.
- Check contract addresses character by character against the ones published here after deployment.
- Be suspicious of urgency: “claim in the next hour” is a scam pattern.
- Social accounts are genuine only if listed on the contact page.
Before your first trade
Install a wallet from its official source
Use the app store or the wallet maker’s own website.
Write the seed phrase down offline
Paper, not a photo or a cloud note.
Practise on testnet
Trade, resolve and claim with test funds until the flow is familiar.
Start small on mainnet
When mainnet opens, begin with an amount you are comfortable losing.
